Think you know your Ethiopian from your Colombian? Your Sumatran from your Guatemalan?
Join us for a fun, interactive coffee tasting session before the AMA Conference 2026 gets underway. You'll taste coffees from the four main growing regions of the world, learn what makes each one distinctive, and compete against fellow delegates to prove you've got the sharpest palate in the room.
Each 45-minute session is part tasting, part learning, part competition. You'll be split into teams of four, guided through a quick training on what to look (and taste) for, then challenged to identify five mystery coffees by region.
Points for correct guesses. Bonus points for speed. Prizes for winners.
Whether you're a coffee obsessive or someone who just knows they like "the strong one," this is a relaxed, accessible session designed to be fun first, with a bit of friendly competition thrown in.
Then we can compare notes with delegates from the other sessions during AMA's opening night socials.
Wednesday 15th July
Sessions run for 30-45 minutes. 15 people per session, so spaces are limited!
Yes, there are prizes! Every session, the winning team takes home a bag of specialist coffee beans selected by our coffee connoisseur of the day, Matt Randell.
Munro House, Duke St, Leeds LS9 8AG
Matt Randell is a specialty coffee enthusiast who's spent time with farmers in Honduras and has a passion for helping people discover what they actually like about coffee. He promises no snobbery, no jargon you don't need, and no judgment if you've never done a proper tasting before.
