We’re thrilled to introduce Michelle, our new Junior Customer Success Manager.
We sat down with her to find out more about her and why she wants to contribute to the arts and culture sector.
Hi Michelle. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what you did before joining CultureSuite?
Hiya! I am a 27-year-old transwoman based in the Netherlands. I recently graduated from my study in Media and Communication, and I joined CultureSuite as my first full-time grown-up job in March 2024. Before joining CultureSuite, I worked in community management for an online social platform for about 6 months during my studies. I am happy to somewhat be able to do the same job, but now, as a full-time job.
What enticed you to join CultureSuite?
I love the cultural sector. Arts and performance is something that holds a special place in my heart. The magic of these two is something that can always cheer me up or pull me completely into the world it’s portraying. Being able to help out that specific sector with the clients at CultureSuite feels super rewarding.
What’s your earliest experience of arts and culture? And how did it influence who you are today?
As a young kid, I loved going to the cinema and seeing theatre shows. The writing and theatrics always intrigued me. At one point, I had a dream of acting myself, but soon realised I had massive stage fright and was scared to perform in front of people. I stayed on the visitor side of performances ever since and still enjoy them a lot! My favourite thing to attend is concerts with my partner or friends. Sometimes I even go to them by myself just to enjoy the music.
Here’s a picture of my favourite band that I am lucky to have seen a lot of times. This is Against The Current from a show in 2018 in Amsterdam.
How would you like to help the sector in your new role?
In my role as a Junior Customer Success Manager, I hope to help the sector by offering the support they need to create the best experience for their customers on their website(s). Helping them make their vision come true fills me with joy and seeing all their creativity and efforts pay off.
What do you enjoy doing outside of your role at CultureSuite?
Outside of my role at CultureSuite, I like to play video games, read tons of books, play Dungeons & Dragons and collect vinyls of my favourite artists. I like to hyperfocus on a specific game, book or project at a time. At the moment of writing, I am playing loads of Valorant and League of Legends, reading multiple books at once and working on my sparkling Taylor Swift outfit for an upcoming concert.
Here is the outfit I’m currently working on. All the stones are hand-glued to it and it has already taken over 30 hours to finish the front. Now all that’s left is the back. Let’s hope that goes slightly quicker.
What is the most interesting (be that cool, random or otherwise!) thing that’s ever happened to you?
When I had a VIP ticket to my favourite band, I was able to get them to write my favourite lyrics of one of their songs down. The next time I saw them, I had a chat with them and showed them the tattoo I got from their lyrics. It’s still my favourite tattoo to this day.
